Summer places may appear to be fantasies, but they connect us with real things. More than just places to spend vacations, they allow us to put ourselves back together.

A house becomes a cottage when it provides relief from a weary world. Summer houses are places where the demands and routines of normal life drift from memory as swiftly as summer clouds transform from simple wisps to dolphins.

Whether it is visited once a year or once a week, a summer cottage exists for the sole pleasure of the occupant, not to fulfill any real need or specific function.

Because we distance ourselves from the very earth that supports us, because we dance to the merciless beat of everyday life, because families are disjointed or ill-acquainted with each other, because modern life is complicated, we need cottages. We need them in order to reconnect with nature, with ourselves, with family and with simpler aspects of life.

The Pearls will be a neighborhood celebrating traditional beachfront and soundfront living. Families will gather to celebrate, rejuvenate and also unwind. Life at The Pearls, a sound to sea community, will be slow and relaxing; a calming, unpretentious and endearing place to come home to a “shoes off” approach to living.

The neighborhood will be home to 129 families; With a soundside pier, boardwalk, pool, a beach pavilion, and an oceanside pool. Homes will stretch from sea to sound and all designed to encourage community.

Each cottage will be unique - each enhancing and embracing the fabric of the community. Porches will be abundant along with balconies, book alcoves, high ceilings, wood floors and accent walls. Paddle fans, rocking chairs, screen doors and cotton hammocks will all embrace the traditional sea-to-sound living.

You are invited to experience The Pearls for yourself - a place where new traditions are begun and epic childhood memories made. From building sandcastles to settling down with a good book to pass the time - The Pearls will celebrate life the way it’s supposed to be.

Location & Master Plan

Your cottage can be located high on the ridge overlooking the sea or oceanside as part of a scene of picturesque cottages leading to the ocean or along the meandering soundside way leading to the sound, soundside homesites and the soundfront Hoffman Condominium. The Pearls will be a walkable community with interesting views wherever you go. By foot are restaurants, and the multiple amenities of Indian Beach. In addition, with just a short drive by car, bike or golf cart is additional shopping, restaurants and unique entertainment venues.
